Electric and Hybrid Cars

Modern technologies have prompted automobile innovations to adapt to the changing interests and necessities of people. Originally, cars were gas-powered, and then later on manufacturers have arrived at electric and hybrid cars.

Electric cars are run on batteries. These batteries are assembled into battery packs that are either rechargeable or disposable. Sometimes, most buyers prefer the disposable ones because of time-consuming recharging. An electric car is nice to drive because it's quiet. It's fun too because it has two speeds: on and off. It can speed up immediately from a dead stop. It is also easy to maintain and take care of and overall less costly. However, feedback about electric cars is that they are too quiet, which may be dangerous to the pedestrians and other vehicles on the road.

A hybrid car, on the other hand, has the combination of gas and electricity. It is run alternately by a gas engine and an electric motor. It consumes less fuel than the gas-powered cars, and the batteries recharge themselves automatically. The gas engine is also energy-conserving because it shuts off when the car is not moving and when it runs, the energy returns at once. The structure of the hybrid is also different from the common car. It is made of aluminum and plastic and is lightweight in design to enable it to be powered by smaller and lighter gas engines.

While both the electric and hybrid cars are environmentally friendly and economical, the hybrid is a lot better than the purely electric car. Unlike the electric car, it has batteries that have a self-recharging capability. They don't need an external source or to be plugged into an outlet to recharge. Choices depend on the buyer's preferences and purposes.

It's quite amazing to think that even though technology brings some disadvantages to humans, like becoming less industrious and impersonalized, it also has given us a lot of beneficial things, and continues to support us in our everyday needs. More discoveries and inventions year after year prove that people are undoubtedly skillful, talented, and wonderful. They can also turn this world into better place.
