Why You Should Never Quit Your MLM

Listen to this and tell me if it sounds familiar to you. You've looked over all the material and decided to join a new mlm company, maybe your first one, maybe not. The products look great, the company looks professional, the promo material is slick, and the website has a flash presentation. This is going to be great! Surely everyone I talk to will be interested and I'll be able to quit my day job in no time!

But then reality sets in. Your first product order costs you $125, and every month you have to order an additional $125 in products to stay qualified. You're buying leads every month for $50. You are spending another $25 per month in pay per click ads. On top of the money, you have to spend time away from your family going to meetings, doing presentations, and working the business online. After a few months your spouse is getting grumpy at all the time and money you spend on the 'new venture'. The pressure mounts, your downline isn't growing, more money goes out than comes in, and you decide to quit.

What's wrong with this picture? And what do I mean when I say you should never quit your MLM?

Truthfully, most people who are involved in mlm, whether they are a success yet or not, have had the above experience. It is actually a common scenario, because mlm is an easy come, easy go situation. People can get started for a relatively small cost compared to starting another business, but the reason they join in the first place is usually because they don't have enough money in their lives. So if they aren't making money quick, most people will either quit mlm entirely or move on to the next opportunity, hoping that one will be the big, quick, easy money-maker. And it's easy to quit an mlm, you just stop buying the products or press a button on the company website, and easy go.

Here is the reason you should never quit. For the average person with a day job, MLM is the easiest, most cost-effective way to have your own business that can grow over time to give you an unlimited, passive income. And you can do it in your spare time while keeping your day job.

If you are planning on joining an mlm, or evaluating your present company, here are some things to think about.

If done right, you should be buying products every month that you or your family use, at a price you can afford every month. Perhaps join an mlm that has products you are already buying locally. That way, you are just shifting the same money around. Or better yet, find a way to sell enough products to customers to stay qualified every month. Many people hate selling, but these days you can sell online and avoid the face to face presentation, at least until you overcome the fear.

If done right, you should be marketing your business every week, or every day if possible. Set an advertising budget you can afford and stick to it. Look for inexpensive ways to advertise. Some ideas are business cards, a sticker of your website url on your car, a small classified ad in your weekly newspaper, and free online advertising.

At a minimum, plan on doing your mlm for at least 3 years without making the big money. This means, make a decision to commit to the business no matter what until you find a way to make it work. Be realistic in how much it will cost you. If you achieve success sooner, then great! If not, after three years of really working the business you will learn enough to keep going, and more importantly, know why you should keep going.

Over time, if you are working the business, the right people will show up and join you. You will be using great products every month at a price you can afford, and you will be doing something to build your business every day. Network marketing is not a get rich quick scheme; it is really a way for you to put a little effort in over a long period of time to reap the rewards. I've heard in said that in mlm you will get paid in the future for the work you are doing today, which is much different than a traditional job. But the rewards will be much more lucrative! Never quit!
