Being Independent is Wonderful - If YOU can Be Trusted and Responsible

Being "independent" means self reliant, determined to take responsibility for your own life and to make the most of it. Otherwise, we're like a teenager who wants to "do as I please" but HOLDS ON, just in case.

Most of us have been there. I remember the days of wanting my own car, choosing my own clothes, the duck-tail haircut, the "pegged" pants, music at harborlights lighthouse, and making 60 cents an hour at the bank job. The "king" of being independent had arrived.

TRUTH IS......

None of us really want or can be independent of others in our lives. LIFE is PEOPLE! How miserable you and I would be without someone else to share our successes with, to be there when we "fall down" in business, or we get our knees skinned and bruised along the way.

Business is a BATTLE. You need combat fatigues, gloves on in the arena to fight REJECTION at every turn when you expected the WELCOME mat on every doorstep. Unfortunately, your potential client/customer is FEARFUL of being sold a new service or product. His/her guard is UP, daring you to overpower his position and cause MONEY to be exchanged.

OVERCOMER is your NEW name. That is your JOB TITLE in the sales profession. You don't sell? Kidding, right? Sure you do! EVERYONE in your company is either SELLING or they are running off the business. Make sure you only hire from the 20% brain-trust who will MAKE YOUR COMPANY.

Put on your "Consultant" hat when you are offering services to a prospective client. Your position is to "discover" if this person/company really needs what you have to offer. Why try to do otherwise when you have the best product/service available anywhere? You are an advisor - consultant - helper to clients with whom you do business.

==========================================

ACTION TIP: Independence and Trust co-habitate and belong together. You want to hire ONLY from the best resources. You need strong/positive links in every job. ATTITUDE and self-esteem must be outstanding positives. Eliminate the negatives as soon as they surface.
