Well you guessed much of Southern Florida is still without power and this is troubling residents and business owners. Some gas stations have brought in portable generation or are on emergency power back systems. All the cigarette lighter adapters, inverters and appliances are sold out everywhere. Many businesses remain closed, as 41% of Florida Power and Light Customers, which had their power go out are still without power. The estimate of when that might all be fixed? Well, officials are hoping to have it back on by Thanksgiving? Ah, hello. . . Thanksgiving, come again? one resident said. Not that anyone wanted anything out of the refrigerator, to watch TV, brew a cup of coffee or even use the microwave. Many underestimated the wicked wrath of Western World Record Setting Wilma, but not anymore, as this is one Hurricane the residents of Southern Florida will not soon forget. Most of the telephones are also down and some wonder if the 10 reported deaths from Wilma are even reasonable, since their maybe many more which no one has talked too. Some older folks without power may also fall victim in the coming weeks and we remember Hurricane Wilma. There is even a more frightening thought; that is Hurricane Season has over four weeks left and another Hurricane could come a long and make it even a worse situation meaning there maybe nothing to give thanks for and then they will be looking a Christmas or New Years to get the power back on. Think on this. |
