You Can't Get Fit At Work, Can You?

You better believe you can.

In fact, in today's world of 60 plus hour work weeks, less time off, more stress, increased workload (at the office and at home)...you had better figure out how to do some kind of exercise while at work to get yourself in shape.

There are so many little things that you can do while at work to keep yourself fit...you just have to use your imagination.

You have some of that, don't you?

Of course you do.

Unfortunately, most people just sloth away in front of their computer all day, when they could be taking just a few minutes to get themselves in better shape.

How do you do it?

I thought you'd never ask...........

Well, since most people work in a place with stairs..............

You get what I'm sayin' (lol),

Yep, you guessed it......take the stairs!

I know, I know, you can stop with the applause, that is truly life changing, isn't it.

Ok, maybe not.

But seriously, taking the stairs is an absolutely wonderful way to help you out.

Don't be lazy, don't always take the elevator.

Wait a minute...........

I can hear the complaints already,

I work on the 53rd floor Chris, are you nuts'?

Now, let's use some common sense here......... Am I asking you to walk up all 53 flights of stairs?

Of course not!!!

Unless you want to show up to work drenched in sweat (lol).

Hey, it's your call.

Ride up to the 49th floor, and then walk the other four.

Brilliant.

Then, to take a break during the workday, walk up/down a couple of flights of stairs, maybe even give it a light jog for at least one of those flights. Do this 2,3,4 times a day, and at least you won't be like your co-workers who plant their butt in their computer chair for 8 plus hours a day.

How about another exercise to do at work?

Pushups.

HUH? You may be saying.

Well, all you need to do is to put both your hands on the edge of your desk, (you can vary the hand position, as this will hit different muscles) get in a pushup position (your body will be diagonal - feet on the floor and hands on the desk), and crank out some pushups. You don't need to get on the floor, get dirty, or make a big deal about it. Just get your butt up off your chair, get into position on your desk, and start busting out some pushups. This is great for a nice little pick me up - especially when you've been staring at your computer screen for a few hours. You can try to do 2-3 sets at once, or just spread a few sets out during the day.

I would LOVE to tell you some more tips, but it's getting late, and I need to go. These two things are all you need to start. Start them! Don't wait until you get every single tip, trick, and secret..........and THEN start to exercise. It's too late. Start now......see how it goes (don't worry, it will be great). Use your creative brain (I know you all have one!), to think of other ideas.....I bet you can find a multitude of them, some that are probably so easy.

Get excited and get started now........I'll talk to you soon.
