Women in Combat

A question whether women should be permitted to serve in combats is not new any more. The two main words here are: "permitted" and "combat". A ratified amendment would mean that women can lose their automatic exemption from combat and could serve, but they need to be qualified and their service is to be in the best interests of nation. There's still a considerable controversy. Of course the interests of nation and military services are to be taken into consideration before taking the final decision as for permitting women to be taken in combat roles.

Returning to the term "combat", which is reach for shades of meaning: for example, the piloting fighter aircraft is a combat category, but that piloting cargo aircraft is not. The nature of military organization proves it to be difficult to define what noncombatant service is.

The Air Force had planned to begin training women for officer and enlisted positions on Titan 2, but there always can be some opinions that placing women on missile combat crews breaks the laws.

There are some really important features which are to be defined as for this matter, like equal pay for equal work for women. It also depends whether we are talking about equal performance in every respect and whether such types of work exist, when the occupation is completely equal.
