Say It and Follow Through

You say you want to lose weight and embrace a healthier lifestyle. You say you are unhappy and unfulfilled at your job. You say you are overwhelmed with your life and need to make some changes. Then what? Do you follow through and do what it takes to move forward or do you stay put because it's easier that way? If you continue to talk negatively about your life but aren't willing to put those words to action, what does that tell you? It might be time to take ownership of your choices, to stop blaming others and making up excuses why you can't step forward. It is important to do something, even simple tasks are better than remaining stagnant. These steps will move you closer toward what you desire and further away from what is making you unhappy. I know you are familiar with the saying "Don't talk the talk if you aren't willing to walk the walk". It is one thing to be unhappy with certain areas of your life as long as you are willing to take the risks necessary to face your fears and open the doors of opportunity. Constant complaining and negativity with no forward action is quite unattractive and unappealing to others. Your friends want to help you and are willing to be there for you as long as they see your desire and commitment to do the work as well. So, either recognize your unhappiness and do something about it or recognize your choice to "do nothing" and take ownership of that decision by letting go of the complaints.

ACTION STEPS FOR THE WEEK:

1. List areas of dissatisfaction

What areas of your life are you unhappy with? Career, relationships, lack of fun, too overwhelmed? You need to write this down first so that you take ownership of it and move forward.

2. Hire a life coach

If you have had a hard time in the past motivating yourself and pushing yourself past your comfort zones, maybe it is time to instill the help of a coach. How badly do you want these changes? If your desire is great but you need a third party to hold you accountable and be your partner in facing some of your fears, don't wait another day.

3. Look to the future

What will your life look like and feel like once you have accomplished your goals? Write down exactly how you see your life once you've made some major life changes. You are the only person holding you back from achieving all that you want to achieve. Start creating this vision now.
