Become Enlightened

The other day I had a meeting on the web with a few friends. We are planning our class reunion and since no two people were ever available at the same time, we decided to set up a CHAT group and meet over the web.

It was a lot of fun and exciting. This got me curious about CHAT rooms so I later signed into a Christian chat room to see what the hoopla was all about regarding these chat rooms. Although I have been on the web for almost ten years, Ive never ventured into a chat room. Need less to say, there werent very much Christianity going on in that chat room.

One person, with a rather strange handle, which I cannot remember right now, questioned whether or not there actually was a God. He stated that with so much evil going on in the world, it led him to question Gods existence.

Later, after signing off, I thought about what strange handle said about the evil in the world. Of course, God has nothing to do with the evil but it got me to thinking about all of the people who are so "Unenlightened".

Even people who are Christian are oftentimes "unenlightened" by a true understanding of how God works in their life.

Because I teach how to discover Gods purpose for your life, I want to talk about how unenlightened we are when it comes to the type of work we choose or the profession we decide to go into.

We allow the economy to dictate what type of job we accept as opposed to what type of career God has chosen for us.

We continue on a job that is not fulfilling because we like the people we work with or we are just so happy that we have a job because we always hear how there are no jobs out there.

So, we continue to stay unhappy or unfulfilled because we are unenlightened about how God works in our life.

Let me try and break down my understanding of how God works in our lives:

At birth, you are born with a soul, which has a seed already set to grow inside of us. This seed is your lifes purpose.

As a child, we are close to God. Whether or not someone in our lives teaches us about Him or not, we have an understanding and a closeness with God.

As we grow older, if we seek out a relationship with God, He will grow closer to us.

If you consult with God before making any decisions in your life, you will never be led astray.

What often happens is we decide to take control of our lives instead of allowing God to control our lives and we oftentimes mess up because we are human and thats what humans do.

Because we take control and make our own decisions, we are led astray and find ourselves in jobs or in careers that just dont settle right with our souls.

Our souls were given a mission at birth and we have not followed our mission and allowed our souls to grow.

The closer we draw to God, the more unsettled we will feel on our jobs or in our careers that are not aligned with our soul.

When it gets to the point where we simply cannot take it any longer, when going to the office literally makes us sick to the stomach, or when simply getting out of bed in the morning becomes a task; we start looking for answers.

We start seeking out the truth. We start seeking out knowledge.

But having the knowledge and understanding of the truth is absolutely nothing until you put it into action.

Yes, it is a bit scary at first.

I dont know anyone who has made changes in their lives and wasnt a bit scared in the beginning. But the more you learn, the more you grow. Start off small. Learn every day.

Constantly seek out wisdom and understanding. Take it one day at a time. If you simply put one foot in front of the other, soon youll be walking cross the floor.

Put your faith and believe with all your heart that God is guiding you, guiding your ways, guiding your day; guiding your hours. If you truly believe this and learn to listen to your soul there is absolutely nothing to stop you from accomplishing Gods goals for your life.

Leaving a job that you hate and starting your own business will seem like a breeze. Quitting a job that pays good money but isnt aligned with your soul, will become easy to do.

God will guide you down the right path. Remember, HE is the one that gave you this purpose. HE is the one who decided what you should do with your life. Theres a reason why you are here and HE is the one that created that reason. Wouldnt it only make sense that HE would want you to be successful at it?

NOTE: This is very important. If you dont remember anything else youve read in this newsletter remember this: TO GOD GOES ALL THE GLORY. When you reach a goal or receive an accomplishment, give God the glory. Thank HIM for all He has done for you in your life. All God wants from us is acknowledgement and thanks.

Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Action Point: For this week, consult with God before making any decisions. Before you go to bed at night, say your prayers and give thanks for all the blessings youve received that day.

Ask God what you should do the next day to bring you closer to your goal.

Then sit and listen.

Listen to your soul.

Grab a piece of paper and write down your thoughts. This list will be your To Do list for the next day.

Then go to sleep.

While you are in the state right before you actually doze off, concentrate on the task you have to do the next day.

Visualize yourself accomplishing all the things you have written down on your To Do list.

Thank God, in advance, for allowing you to complete your entire list.

Then, get a good night sleep.

If you do this often enough, you will have accomplished and completed all of the goals you have set for yourself and will be living your lifes purpose.
