Sometimes it takes reading the printed-page or a famous person saying something to finally realize, I always believed that from personal experience, so how come no one ever said it out loud! The answer is we censor ourselves to fit in with society, our family and associates. We do such a good job of denying what our eyes see and our brain dopes-out, that we convince ourselves day is really night! a) Only 5% of lawyers, doctors, CPAs, engineers and administrators are competent. The rest are terminally lazy and inadequate. b) Only 5% of the population are prepared for university after high school, yet we make people feel guilty if they choose to apprentice themselves to learn a lucrative career. c) Only 5% of teachers are dedicated to educating students, the rest love it because they can be the Queen or King over defenseless victims. d) Only 5% of writers, lecturers, actors and musicians have talent, the rest are plotzers who make a career of playing the public. e) Only 5% of our conversations on-line, in-person and on-the- telephone are not a total waste of your life. f) Only 5% of PhDs feel adequate in their knowledge or position. Yes really - a recent survey, and our personal experience confirms it. How It Plays Out The Dumbing-Down of society is a fact and worthy of discussion because it reaches out to grab us (or our family), by the throat sooner or later. Once you are in the hands of the, municipal, state or federal government, your freedom is in jeopardy. A close relative is in the middle of a criminal law suit where he is the defendant on leaving-the-sceneof an-accident-. The defendant has between 12 and 15 witness to his innocence and the victims falling-down drugged state. The government has the word of the allegedly injured party as its sole evidence. The victim, according to medical records at hospital, was filled with alcohol and cocaine at the time of the alleged incident. The DA will not drop the case because it will reflect badly on her win/loss record, used for promotions and raises. Oh Yeah, the victim commenced a civil law suit for one million dollars, and will greatly enhance his prospects if the criminal case convicts the defendant. The defense counsel of my close relative has strongly advised his client to plead guilty to make this potentially tragic situation go-away. Yes, he is convinced that his client is totally innocent, and the victim is using it as blackmail in his civil case to fatten his wallet. He says, plead guilty to a misdemeanor and no jail time - or face Five Years in jail on conviction! Wheres The Catch? There isnt any and this is SOP (Standing Operating Procedure), nationally. The conviction rate is 98.5% annually in criminal cases. You and other right-thinking folks believe this is an exaggeration, and mistakes only happens once in a blue-moon, right? Google: wrongful criminal convictions How many stories are made public annually indicating the wrong DNA for the rape or murder? Most are buried in court records by a fat financial settlement with the poor loser. The rule is: take the money and shut up, and let the government keep their apologies. If they talk about the wrongful conviction they violate the agreement and can lose the settlement. The most recent case in Illinois is an innocent jailbird who served 18 years until the DNA revealed his innocence of the rape. There were five witnesses who picked him out of a line up, and a hungry DA who investigate no further than the conviction. The Court of Appeals rubber-stamped the conviction, and the U.S. Supreme Court would not even consider hearing the matter. The 5% Rule We believe that you and I are capable of joining the successful 5% who are the cream in whatever career they exert their efforts.
