UK Themeparks are a Great Opportunity for the Whole Family to Get a Break

The summer holidays are here again, and trying to find somewhere to go for a short break holiday or a good day out that is suitable for the entire family, including young children, can prove difficult.

The many themeparks around the UK such as Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Blackpool Pleasure Beach can provide great days out for both children and adults alike, with high adrenaline rides which plunge you into inverted gravity drops. Rollercoasters, log flumes, ghost trains, zero-g swings and catapults, will keep everyone glued to their seats with the white knuckle action.

Alton Towers newest ride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, is suitable for the whole family. This is a high tech special effects experience taking the riders through the heart of the fantastical factory.

Thorpe Parks latest attraction, Stealth, is the fastest and tallest Launch Coaster in Europe and is a must for all thrill seekers. Accelerating up to 80 mph in just over 2 seconds and travelling at heights of 205ft, this is one for those looking for a real fast paced ride.

Blackpool with its 145 rides and attraction (more than any other amusement park in Europe), has something for everyone. Heart stopping rides suitable for adults and older children, through to the Beaver Creek Theme Park for children, as well as award winning shows and beach activities.

For families with younger children, Legoland Windsor is ideal has proved to be a major hit with thousands of families with children aged 2-12 years since it opened in 1996 on the former site of Windsor Safari Park.

Most adults can remember playing with Lego when they were children themselves, creating wonderful and complicated sculptures such as a small wall, or a slightly larger Lego brick made of the small bricks. A quick visit to any toy shop will show how much Lego has moved on during recent years. These days children can create intricate structures, interactive moon bases with spaceships, fantastical kingdoms with knights and dragons, or feats of engineering.

Legoland itself allows kids to design buildings to test on earthquake tables, create cars to test and race against others. Visitors can also view the new Spellbreaker 4 dimensional medieval adventure film, try out the log flume, ride the Dragon rollercoaster or go on a treasure trail. Younger kids can also journey through Miniland, where over 40 million Lego bricks have been used to recreate famous landmarks from around the world, ride on the Dragons Apprentice coaster or visit the brightly coloured Duploland (especially for younger kids).

You can find out how to book a stay a trip to a themepark at Superbreak's UK themeparks page.

All the theme parks can provide a great break away from home; and they all cater for a wide age range of visitors, making them ideal for a one day visit or as part of a long week end UK holiday.
